Orana Arts Incorporated Begins a New Chapter:
Community Input Invited as Organisation Evolves
Orana Arts, a leading arts development organisation in Western NSW, is entering a transformative new chapter in response to a significantly changed funding landscape. With over 21 years of dedicated service to creative communities across the Orana region, the organisation is taking proactive steps to ensure its continued relevance and sustainability.
In collaboration with Regional Arts NSW and Create NSW, the Orana Arts Board is actively working to reframe and rejuvenate the organisation’s operations. As part of this process, Orana Arts is inviting input from community members, stakeholders, and creative practitioners to help shape its future direction.
“This is a pivotal moment for Orana Arts,” said a spokesperson for the Board. “We are committed to working collaboratively with our community to reimagine what the organisation can be. Together, we can build a vibrant and sustainable future for arts in our region.”
To support this evolution, the Board has made the difficult decision to restructure the organisation, which includes the redundancy of the Executive Director position. Orana Arts acknowledges and sincerely thanks Ms Alicia Rodriguez Leggett for her passion, commitment, and significant tenure with the organisation. Her contribution has left a lasting legacy, and we wish her all the very best in her future endeavours.
Looking ahead, a Board reshuffle is planned, with a new Chair to be elected in early 2026. This change is part of a broader strategy to strengthen governance and ensure the organisation is well-positioned to meet future challenges and opportunities.
Further details on how to participate in the community consultation process will be shared in the coming months.
