OUR 2025 GRANT RECIPIENTS

VISUAL ARTS/ Social Gain (Dubbo) for: Inspired by Her

Inspired by Her is a multi-stage creative program celebrating the stories and voices of women from our region’s past, reimagined through the work of local women. Beginning in late 2025, the program will feature talks and a workshop on uncovering and interpreting local women’s histories, followed by an open call for local women to create new works inspired by these stories. Selected works will be exhibited at the Western Plains Cultural Centre in March 2026 as part of a Women’s Festival coinciding with International Women’s Day, with an opening event featuring acclaimed historical fiction writer Eleanor Limprecht. During the exhibition, a free, one-hour guided workshop will invite local creatives to respond directly to works on display, fostering new connections, skills, and collaborations across the community.

VISUAL ARTS/ Vicki Aland (Dubbo) for: In A Word

My project is the development and creation of an exhibition of my original artworks. The concept revolves around communication. There are many forms of communication. When communication is given physical form, we call it art, or writing. People have used the written word to record information and ideas for thousands of years but the knowledge needed to understand it can be lost over time and so we lose insight into cultures long transformed or lost.

To be exhibited at Western Plains Cultural Centre, Dubbo in early 2027.

WRITING/ Anikan Evans (Coonabarabran) for: Publishing and Event

A Self-Published book of written poetry, coupled with a launch event.

PERFORMING ARTS/ Anna Bloomfield (Dubbo) for: Spring Workshop

A three day dance workshop for all regional dance students to extend their dance skills, improve technique, create relationships and build confidence. The workshop will include ballet, hip hop, contemporary, tumbling and musical theatre classes instructed by visiting tutors that are leaders in the Australian dance industry.
