$140,000 in Fellowships for Regional Artists – EOIs Now Open

Expressions of Interest for the 2026 National Regional Arts Fellowship Program are now open.

The National Regional Arts Fellowship is an investment in the development of artistic and creative practice. The program is contemporary, flexible and relevant to artists practising, working and living in regional, rural and remote Australia.

This year, eight fellowships, totalling $140,000, are available, including:

  • Six Creative & Professional Development Fellowships – $20,000 each

  • Two Early Career Development Fellowships – $10,000 each

The program’s focus this year is sustainability - economic, cultural and environmental. Whether you're an established artist ready to go deeper or early in your career and hungry for the support to grow,  if that thread of sustainability runs through your work, it is encouraged that you apply.

What would change if you had the time, space and support to focus on your creative practice?

The Expression of Interest is just a pitch.

You don't need confirmed partners, a timeline or a budget. The panel simply wants to understand your idea and the difference this fellowship could make to your practice or career. You'll be asked to respond to four short prompts:

  • What do you propose to do? (300 words)

  • What impact will this fellowship have on your practice or career? (300 words)

  • What are your key achievements to date? (200 words)

  • How will you spend the funds? (200 words)

You have the option to submit written responses or record a short video or audio pitch.
