Regional Music Communities Funding: Community Bands Program Now Open

As we know, community bands are often more than music.

They are where people meet. Where confidence grows. Where young people try something new, and where long-standing members keep traditions alive. They show up at local events, celebrations, and moments that bring communities together.

The Regional NSW Community Bands Program recognises the role community bands play in regional life - bringing people together, building skills, and creating moments of connection across generations.

Support for community music is available right now in regional NSW with The Regional NSW Community Bands Program.

Practical, Quick-Response, Support

The Program provides small, quick-response grants to support the sustainability and growth of community bands across regional NSW.

Funding and key dates

  • Grants of up to $2,500 available

  • Applications close: 19 May 2026

This Program is open to community bands based in regional NSW. Funding can be used to help bands continue, enhance or expand their activities — whether that’s equipment, uniforms, workshops, or finding ways to keep people involved.

Note: for the purpose of this funding a ‘community band’ is defined as a concert band or brass band or string ensemble composed of musicians representing a specific community, geographic area or community entity.

These grants are open to established groups and those looking to grow and is the kind of support that makes it easier to keep groups going, and for people to be part of something. If you are part of a local band or connected to one this is a great opportunity to explore.
