Kumi Taiko help celebrate Shoyoen 20th Anniversary

2022 Kumi Taiko ensemble at the entrance to Shoyoen Japanese Gardens, Dubbo

Our Kumi Taiko ensemble recently had a big weekend performing for delegates from Minokoma, Japan, as guests of the Shoyoen Japanese Garden 20th anniversary celebrations over the weekend of 19-20 November. They played at a dinner on the Saturday night, and then the next day, positioned at the entrance of the Shoyoen Garden on a very warm Sunday afternoon, they drummed in guests arriving for ceremonies at the tea house before the final event of the weekend got underway.

We're very proud of these young percussionists who have been part of our NaDR Kumi Taiko program this year under the guidance of Taikoz. Another great experience under their obis (belts).
