Inspired by Myra: an homage

A highly skilled craftswoman and colourful 1930’s character, Mudgee identity Myra Mogg inspires a range of fibre artists to create an homage to her knitting and stitching skills.

Myra produced exquisite examples of needlecraft throughout her lifetime of which a selection is now held by Sydney's Powerhouse Museum. She was also notable for being the first woman in Mudgee to hold an office job during the 1930’s, notoriously independent and a strong advocate of women’s rights.

This exhibition showcases contemporary textile works, traditional fine knitting and of the era embroidered pieces, at Artisan on Lewis in Mudgee.
