HomeGround Exhibition: White Wash by Paris Norton

White Wash is a photographic series that explores concepts surrounding the history of the Stolen Generation and its failed role in the attempt to breed out Indigenous heritage through policy based on skin pigmentation. The photographic series will consist of a single locked frame of a young Indigenous boy being slowly covered in white liquid. The action of covering the child in white liquid relates to the notion of breeding out colour and the suffocating experience of being controlled, moulded and lost in an alien society.
