| Description: | Judith explores the themes of emotion and morality through the art of knitting. To knit is to meditate. During meditation the brain slows down and the body has a chance to heal. It is not the end product which is important, it is the process of sitting quietly and doing something which requires very little brain input. The end product takes on a beauty of its own with intricate button roses made from plaited wire. Judith is a member of Fresh Arts. Judith's work has recently been exhibited in the Waste to Art Exhibition at The Western Plains Cultural Centre, Dubbo and in "Expose" Exhibition at the Western Institute of TAFE at Dubbo. Most recently Judy won the 2008 Art Unlimited prize (hanging art). Image below: "Jacket" 2007, copper wire, 20cm x 14cm |
