Reginald takes inspiration from home, heritage and the local environment to create traditional paintings in bold colours which capture the landscape and native wildlife of the area. From the burnt ochre hues of the land to the turquoise surrounds of the river, Walker uses his art to tell a story of the journey of his people. He combines this with his own style to produce fascinating glimpses of the Koori culture, highlighting his overwhelming inspiration. A self-taught sketch artist, Walker was born in Dubbo as comes from the Wiradjuri people. He states that Dubbo is more than his birthplace, but is also his home. He has been painting for 15 years and started when he was just seven years of age.
