The Gulgong Prince of Wales Eisteddfod was started by the Gulgong Musical and Dramatic Society in 1980 as a fund raiser for the Gulgong Prince of Wales Opera House. The Eisteddfod has become an important cultural event for Gulgong and the Central West. Three weeks showcasing the talents of NSW performers. Dance, speech and music at the Prince of Wales Opera House and the Memorial Hall. Dance is bigger than ever this year with a record number of entries. The competition will be held in the Memorial Hall, Herbert Street, Gulgong, May 2011. Schedule is: dance 27 April, Speech 2 may, Music 16 May and Grand Concert 20 May.
