Total enrollments: 297 children. Dubbo School of Distance Education (DSODE) has an enrolment of 1024 Preschool to Year 12 students, including approximately 75 Aboriginal students. Approximately 600 students are studying one or more single courses whilst enrolled in another school or TAFE, thereby expanding curriculum options for students and isolated rural schools. DSODE provides an important equity service for students who, for various reasons, are unable to attend their local school. Students may enrol for short periods of time, say six months, or for up to 14 years, Preschool to Year 12. In addition to a wide range of Preschool to Year 12 NSW Board of Studies courses, DSODE has developed creative programs to support students with disabilities, students who have identified learning needs in literacy and numeracy, young parents, students with a history of behavioural problems in school and students who wish to pursue studies in vocational education. The school provides blended learning curricula by continuously developing and implementing quality learning programs and creating opportunities for students and teachers to interact through face to face contact, telephone, video and satellite lessons and online experiences.
