
Tirikee (Aleshia Lonsdale) is a Wiradjuri woman from central west NSW with connections to the Wonnarua and Worimi people. She is the great grand-daughter of Aboriginal activist fo the 1920s Fred Maynard. Tirikee was born and raised in Mudgee, NSW and began painting at the age of 10 and has since developed her own unique style. Her paintings are a fusion of traditional and contemporary styles and depict her country, culture and stories. Tirikee also runs Cultural Awareness Workshops, mural workshops and completes commission pieces. Tirikee has works across Australia and pieces in London, Edinburgh, Scotland, Berlin, Germany, Tokyo, Paris and New York. She is currently employed at the Trainee Aboriginal Arts Development Officer with Arts OutWest.
